I’m so excited that my blog is up and that I can finally share my Me Made August outfit. This outfit is my first outfit that I made since I committed to creating 1 outfit per month, and I can’t be happier with how it turned out!
I would say that overall, my experience with creating this look was pretty pleasant. The Moselle Ruffle Crop Top was such a breeze to sew and it was my first time using the French seam technique to finish my seams! I now understand why everyone is crazy over French seams.
The Moji pants were great to work with as well. I struggled a bit with sizing because of the fact that my legs are VERY muscular (proud of my thunder thighs) so I had to make sure I had room for my thighs, which I ended up sewing pants 2 sizes larger than what my waist and hip measurements called for. I am not super experienced yet in modifying my patterns for different measurements, so now I will learn that for my next pair of pants.
I’m also super glad that I was able to use my My Body Model Croquis in the planning process because I had never dared to wear a crop top in the past. I never thought that I had “the body” to pull of a crop top, but I’ve become more confident in my figure ever since I started running and sewing. I felt really confident in making this outfit when I sketched it all out using a croquis with my own measurements. It really is so satisfying watching my Me Made wardrobe pieces come to life!
