I am excited to share a top that I actually started in December 2018 but didn’t finish until just this last week. Today I am sharing my Chalk & Notch Fringe Blouse.
I have to say, I am SO obsessed with this top. When I finished it I literally jumped up and down, squealed, then put on my usual fashion show for my husband while making him pause whatever Netflix show he was watching. The fabric is so dreamy and soft, the color is to die for, and this pattern was so simple but produced such a beautiful garment.

I was actually inspired to make this top when I came across @pin.press.sew‘s top she shared on her Instagram feed. When I saw it I was like, “OMG, I need to make that,” so I saved it and added it to my queue.
I made my top using a Rose Viscose & Linen Noil from Blackbird Fabrics. Even though it’s fall, I feel decently warm in it and layers really well. I can’t even imagine how nice and airy it’s going to be in the spring/summer!

As far as the pattern goes, this is definitely going into my “Tried & True” (T&T) sewing pattern stash. The pattern was really easy to follow and there is an option to make this as a blouse or dress, plus 2 different necklines to choose from. I went with View B because I fell in love with how feminine feeling the neckline is and knew I needed it in my wardrobe. I 100% will be making this as a dress in View A.
I hope everyone checks out this pattern and makes their own Fringe blouse or dress! Also, please help a sister out – what fabric should I make the dress version in? Let me know in the comments!
