Today I’m sharing my recently finished sewing project: the Style Arc Estelle Ponte Jacket. I’ve been eyeing this pattern for a while now and figured fall was the best time to finally sew one! I’m so glad I did, because it’s been the perfect jacket for days that aren’t quite cold enough to fully bundle up like an eskimo.
I made my jacket using a Khaki Solid Cotton Ponte Knit from Mood Fabrics. Unfortunately they are out of the specific fabric I used for my jacket, but they have a great selection of ponte knits!
I ended up sketching my cardigan first to make sure I liked the color. You can see my sketching process below from my recent speed sketch on my IGTV channel!

I’m back with another fun speed sketch! I recently made a @stylearc Estelle Ponte Cardigan and planned it out with my @mybodymodel croquis. As for the pattern, this was my first time sewing a Style Arc pattern and I must say it was confusing at first. I had only written instructions to follow with minimal photos. Thankfully, I am at a point now where I know enough about garment construction that I kind of just went with techniques I already know. It seemed to work out just fine! I also shortened the jacket length and sleeves.
When it came to styling this jacket, I decided to go for a Parisian-Chic inspired look. I also created a Pinterest inspiration board of various waterfall jackets and cardigans, which helped me with some styling ideas.
I’m extremely happy with how this cardigan turned out! This cardigan makes a great basic layering piece and I see myself making more in black or forest green. I haven’t quite decided yet, but I do know that I will definitely be making more in the future!
