Lately I’ve been in a bit of an exercise slump. I’ve felt unmotivated, which hasn’t helped me to build a habit and routine. During COVID, I’ve had to stick with home workouts, which I’ve found myself getting bored of. Add on the winter months to that, and it’s the perfect mix of circumstances that decrease my motivation to exercise!
I’ve been generally gentle with myself, as beating myself up never helps. But it was time to get active again because I didn’t want to be out of shape for when I do resume most of the activities I enjoy, such as going on bike rides and running outdoors.
To help my issue out a bit, I decided it was time for a cute new set of activewear to help me feel excited to exercise! It may seem a little odd that a new outfit would help improve my desire to get a workout in, but the excitement of wearing a cute new sports bra and leggings while working out helps my motivation a lot! When I sewed my Greenstyle Creations Inspire Leggings it helped me get into a workout mood, so I thought I’d try out a new pattern.
The Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings
When I first saw the release of Greenstyle Creations’ Sundial Leggings drop in my inbox, I bumped the pattern up to the top of my list to sew IMMEDIATELY! This legging pattern is so trendy and looks just like a pair you would get at a boutique.
Sewing My Sundial Leggings

Size and Adjustments
For my Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings, I sewed a size E. My measurements are 34-29-38. The waist and hip measurements are 28-29 inches and 37-38 inches, respectively. My measurements lined up perfectly with the Size E, and the leggings ended up being a perfect fit!

As far as adjustments go, since the Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings were drafted for a height of 5’7″, I knew I would have to shorten them a significant amount. The two areas I adjusted were the thigh and lower calf. I shortened a total of 4 inches – 2 at the thigh and two at the lower calf.
No adjustments were made to the waistband or rise, and I opted for the mid-rise option. I was hoping that opting for mid-rise would be high-rise on my petite figure, but it didn’t work out as I had planned. If I sew the Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings again, I will opt for the high-rise waist as my waistband has the tendency to roll down after just a few movements. I find myself pulling my waistband up quite a bit.
The Fabric
I sewed my set with an Olympus Fern Green Poly Spandex from The Fabric Fairy. This fabric is so buttery soft and the perfect weight – not so thin that it is see through, but not so thick that it feels suffocating.
The Sewing Process
Sewing my Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings was a breeze. Since the leg pattern piece is seamless on the outer leg seam, having to sew only 2 leg seams made the sewing process go very quickly. I was able to sew these leggings in a couple hours total, spread over a few weeknight sewing sessions.

Final Thoughts on the Greenstyle Creations Sundial Leggings
Overall, I am TOTALLY obsessed with these leggings. Despite the fact that they roll down a bit, they are great to wear during my Peloton cycle classes at home! As I mentioned before, if I make the Greenstyle Creations Sundial leggings again, I will sew the high-rise option instead.

Also, these leggings go amazingly well with the Greenstyle Creations Elevate Crop Top! The cross band on both the leggings and crop top complement each other very well.
