Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s October already. It’s a new season for me, not only weather-wise but a new season of life is ahead of me as my husband and I will be moving to Spokane, WA on November 2nd! It’s been a crazy whirlwind over the last few months, and I’ve been trying to maintain my sanity in the cluttered mess of moving while still trying to stay focused on sewing projects, blogging, and Youtube.
Why are we moving you ask? Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that it’s been a hard last few months for me in regards to my mental health. I desperately need a change of environment and I think that making positive change for me will involve changing my environment to prevent old habits or patterns from forming that got me into the situation I am in now, so we’re picking up and starting over! We will be staying with his grandma while we get on our feet and we are super grateful for that.
Aside from moving, my husband and I decided that it was best for me to finally give up corporate life and I put in my official resignation a few days ago. The environment and pace just don’t work for me and I’m finally OK with that after trying so hard all the years to keep up because that’s what I felt like I had to do.
I’m pretty excited about uprooting my life. I will say though that it has been absolute CHAOS. Trying to sew and get projects done in a house that is torn apart is a real challenge. I’ve slowed down quite a bit because a lot of my things are now packed up and in a storage unit in Spokane, so I’m focusing on projects that have hard deadlines. I managed to get most of my sewing gear into a rolling sewing tote and serger tote, which have been total lifesavers. Since I will have very limited space while living at his grandma’s, I have to keep everything compact. Unfortunately, this makes sewing a bit inefficient so I’m focusing on projects that won’t require too much space.
Also – while my husband and I were in Spokane I met up with another maker I met on Instagram, Bri @breezy_makes, and we’re determined to find all the Spokane makers! So if you are a maker in Spokane, we are dying to meet you!
I’m thankful that I get to share my life adventures with you all while sharing all my projects! I’m excited to go on this new journey and can’t wait to share more about our life in Spokane!
