Do you HATE having a messy desktop full of icons everywhere? I created this fun sewing desktop wallpaper for sewists to organize your desktop with your frequently used sewing patterns, online fabric stores, apps, documents, and notes.
How to Use Wallpaper Desktop Organizers
It’s a pretty simple process: set the wallpaper photo as your desktop background and shift new and/or existing icons to their respective sections!
Arranging Icons on a Windows Desktop and How to Keep Them from Auto-Arranging
- Right click anywhere on your desktop where there isn’t an icon. Under the ‘View’ dropdown menu, un-check ‘Auto Arrange Icons’
- Move your icons to the desired location on your wallpaper desktop organizer.
- Right click on your desktop again and click ‘Refresh’. This will lock your icons in place so that the next time you start your computer, they won’t go back to their original location.
Arranging Icons on a Mac
On a Mac computer, from the research I’ve conducted (since I am not a Mac user), I believe that you can drag your icons as you please. If I’m wrong, please let me know so that I can update these instructions!
If you want to see this wallpaper in action, check out how I’ve organized my own desktop! I have a mix of applications, sewing patterns, fabric stores, and my trusty digital sticky notes that are now tidy and easy to find.
