I am here today, fresh faced and straight out of the shower, to share with you these cute DIY spring and summer pajamas I made using the Megan Nielsen Reef Camisole & Shorts Set sewing pattern.
I gotta tell you something real quick about my sleeping habits though – I absolutely despise sleeping in pants…even during the cold PNW winters. I will find every reason to either sleep naked or with very minimal clothing. There’s just something about how pants twist around my legs in my sleep that irritates me. I’m a HEAVY sleeper, so the fact that I wake up in the middle of the night to take my pants off says a lot about how irritating it really is for me. So I will buy/make a cute tank/shorts pajama set any day.
These pajamas were SUPER easy to make and very beginner friendly. I highly recommend the pattern for anyone new to sewing! I ended up making the short-shorts version (Version 3 on the pattern). I used the Sevenbery for Robert Kaufmann Petite Garden Lawn from Fabricworm. Unfortunately the fabric is no longer in stock, but they have more lovely fabrics on their site!
One of the details I love most about the camisole is the crossover yoke in back. Camisoles can be pretty boring sometimes, but I love how the crossover yoke adds some extra flare and it doesn’t feel restrictive either!
If you’re looking for a solid set of spring and summer pajamas, these are a must for your spring and summer sewing queue. If you make these pajamas, tag me too in your Instagram photos! I’d love to see how yours turned out!
