Oslo Coat Sewing Process
I recently finished sewing my Tessuti Oslo Coat out of a Camel Boiled Wool gifted to me as a maker for Minerva. I’m absolutely loving wearing it this winter. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, I’ve posted the entire process of making my coat. It was quite the labor of love! It took me about 3 weeks to work on.
I used some couture techniques to make my coat, and it totally paid off. I quilted my lining as I added some extra warmth with an interlining. I also hand rolled my collar! If you want to see more of my process, you can watch my Olso Coat highlights over on my Instagram!
Styling my Tessuti Oslo Coat
When I was researching different ways on Pinterest to style a camel wool coat, I found that I really liked the look of it worn with a simple and casual outfit. I ended up with a small collection of styling inspiration on Pinterest, and you can see what I found in the Oslo Coat Styling section of my Sewing Project Inspo Pinterest board!
I was most inspired by @labauhinia‘s Instagram photo where she styled her camel coat with a simple outfit, Chanel cross-body bag, and plain white sneakers. So cute!
I decided to do my own variation by styling it with a basic black mock turtleneck, Levis 711 Skinny Jeans, Nisolo Elayna Sneakers, and my pre-loved Yves Saint Lauren Chain Wallet from Rebag.
I love how it’s a very dressed up casual look. It transitions well from an afternoon downtown stroll to a dinner date at a nice restaurant, which I actually just did during my trip to the Coeur D’Alene Resort. It was casual enough during the day while strolling the shops and dressy enough in the evening for dinner. Not to mention, it kept me super warm!
Overall, I’m really happy with how my Tessuti Oslo Coat coat turned out and how I styled it. It’s the perfect coat for winter, and I see it transitioning well as we head into spring. I highly recommend the Tessuti Oslo Coat sewing pattern if you want a chic and versatile wool coat in your wardrobe!
