Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Do you celebrate with your family, friends, or significant other? While my husband and I aren’t super big on cards, flowers, and gifts (gifting isn’t a top love language for either of us), we do like to enjoy experiences and quality time together and will be spending a couple days at the Couer D’Alene Resort in Idaho!
While I didn’t sew a specific outfit for the holiday, I recently sewed the Sew Over It London Pussybow Blouse and it turned out to be the perfect blouse to celebrate the day! This sewing pattern is featured in my Winter 2020 Sewing Lineup and I’m happy to have 1/9 of my projects completed.
Not only did I make this gorgeous top, but I also recently made the cutest paper roses to display on my desk at work on Valentine’s Day! I bought a Cricut Maker in January and I have been dying to make Farren Celeste’s Juliet Roses. They are so beautiful and were so much fun to assemble!
She makes the cutest cut files, so if you have a Cricut or Silhouette you should totally check her out!
My mom bought me this gorgeous peach fabric during her trip to Thailand back in November. She was told it was silk but after feeling the fabric and doing a burn test, I think it may actually be polyester – whoops! Nonetheless, the fabric is a very high quality poly. Plus, I can throw it in the washer/dryer without it getting wrinkles so that’s always a bonus!
This is a great top to sew (I would recommend it for an advanced beginner) and the pattern is very easy to follow. I appreciate that Sew Over It London has you hand sew the collar and wrist band to finish, which makes it look so much more polished. If you’ve seen my other blog posts or follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been loving hand sewing these days!
I’ve been loving wearing this top at work as well. It’s super versatile and is great to wear with a casual, work, or date night outfit. I love that part of the versatility of this top is that you can wear it tied in a bow or with the ties hanging. I like to wear it both ways and mix it up every week!
I highly recommend this top and the Pussybow Blouse is officially a new must-have in my wardrobe. I will definitely be making at least 1 more!
I hope you all have an amazing Valentine’s Day celebrating with your loved ones! I can’t wait to see everyone’s Valentine’s Day outfits!
